Plenary Evaluation of Sectoral Statistics Implementation (EPSS) Riau Province 2024

The Plenary Evaluation of Sectoral Statistics Implementation (EPSS) for Riau Province 2024 was held on August 13-14, 2024, at the Prime Park Hotel in Pekanbaru City. The event began with a report by the Chair of the Organizing Committee, Emilia Dharmayanthi, SST, M.Si, who is the Chair of the Sectoral Statistics Development Team at the Riau Province BPS. This was followed by a speech from the Head of BPS Riau Province, Asep Riyadi, S.Si, M.M, who also officially opened the series of events for the Plenary Evaluation of Sectoral Statistics (EPSS) for all Regional Governments across Riau Province. The EPSS Plenary was attended by the Provincial Quality Assurance Team (TPK), the Provincial and District/City Assessment Teams (TPB), the Riau Province Communication and Information Office (Diskominfotik), and the Riau Province Development Planning Agency (Bappedalitbang).

 

The output of the EPSS is an Index of Statistical Development (IPS) score. This plenary session was conducted to discuss and align the IPS scores for Regional Governments across Riau Province, provide EPSS training for the assessment teams to improve their understanding of the evaluation process and the integrity of the Assessment Teams, and develop explanations for indicators as part of the technical guidelines. The series of events included harmonization, calibration and assessment, and agreement on the results. The purpose of this plenary session is to enhance the objectivity of the evaluation, align evaluation perceptions, clarify any extreme changes, and gather suggestions and feedback for continuous improvement.

 

The session was divided into two committees: Committee 1 focused on the harmonization of EPSS, while Committee 2 addressed the implementation of Sectoral Statistics. It is hoped that the successful conduct of this EPSS harmonization activity will contribute to the development of better Sectoral Statistics.
