BPS Kuantan Singingi Conducts Statistics Agent Training at Universitas Islam Kuantan Singingi

On Friday, December 6, 2024, the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Kuantan Singingi held a Statistics Agent training event at the Aula of Universitas Islam Kuantan Singingi (UNIKS). The event was attended by BPS Kuansing Head, Ir. Rozalinda, ME, along with BPS staff, UNIKS Rector Dr. Ikrima Mailani, S.Pd.I., M.Pd.I., and a group of selected lecturers and students who will serve as statistics agents. They will manage the Statistics Corner located in the UNIKS Library, a collaborative innovation between BPS and UNIKS aimed at providing easier access to statistical data to support research and academic activities on campus.

In her speech, the UNIKS Rector expressed gratitude to BPS for trusting their campus as the location for implementing the Statistics Corner, which is expected to enhance statistical literacy among the academic community. The Head of BPS Kuansing, Ir. Rozalinda, ME, emphasized that data is now a resource more valuable than oil, as stated by President Joko Widodo in his 2019 Annual MPR speech. She stressed the importance of making data-driven policies to ensure that decisions are made more accurately and appropriately. The training session continued with presentations on the various statistical services offered by BPS, both online through social media and websites, and offline at the BPS office. The event concluded with a discussion that enriched participants' understanding of the vital role of statistics in data-driven decision-making.
