BPS Encourages Strengthening of Sectoral Statistics Through Sectoral Statistics Development in Regional Government Environments

April 30, 2025 | Other Activities

Teluk Kuantan, April 30, 2025 – The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) held a Quality and Intensive Coaching in Statistics (Quick Stat) activity – Sectoral Statistics Coaching for the One Data Indonesia Domain, which was attended by Bappedalitbang, the Communication, Informatics, and Statistics Agency (Diskominfoss), the Fisheries Agency, and the Food Crops, Horticulture, and Food Security Agency (DTPHKP). This coaching focused on Domain 1, namely One Data Indonesia.

In her remarks, the Head of BPS, Mrs. Ir. Rozalinda, M.E. emphasized that the sectoral data standards in the selected OPDs were in accordance with statistical principles and were worthy of being shared. She also highlighted the importance of government policies based on data and evaluation. It was also emphasized that the data published by BPS was only aggregate data and did not contain information based on names and addresses. One of the obstacles still faced is data documentation that has not been structured in the local government environment.

The main material was delivered by Debi Tomika, SST as the Junior Expert Computer Technician of BPS Kuantan Singingi Regency, who explained that the initial steps of coaching were carried out through sectoral statistical identification in all OPDs. From the results of this identification, two statistical activities from the Fisheries Service and DTPHKP were selected as the locus of coaching. These two activities have also been designated as priority data based on the Bappenas Circular Letter of 2024 and will be the focus of assistance in the next five meetings.

In her presentation, Debi Tomika, SST also explained that although in writing the activity uses a sampling method, most of the data is still a compilation of administrative products. One of the issues that emerged was the difference in rice productivity data between OPD and BPS, which was caused by differences in methods and data sources.

The activity was closed with an in-depth presentation of Domain 1 Satu Data Indonesia, an introduction to the Indah application as a data management tool, and a discussion related to indicators in the domain. In closing, participants took an interactive quiz to test their understanding of the material that had been presented.
