Coaching for Desa Cinta Statistik (Desa Cantik) in Pasir Emas Village, 2025

Teluk Kuantan, July 3, 2025 – The Statistics Indonesia (BPS) of Kuantan Singingi Regency continued its coaching activities for Pasir Emas Village, Singingi District, with the second meeting held on Thursday, July 3, 2025.

The event, held at the Pasir Emas Village Office, was attended by the entire village apparatus, representatives from the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda), the Village Consultative Body (BPD), and several community members. This coaching is a vital part of the national program “Desa Cinta Statistik” (Village of Statistical Awareness), initiated by BPS, which aims to enhance statistical literacy and governance at the village and sub-district levels.

The event was officially opened by the Acting Head of Pasir Emas Village, Mr. Maisopar, and followed by remarks from the Head of BPS Kuantan Singingi, Ir. Rozalinda, ME. In her speech, she emphasized that this activity aims to develop village statistical agents capable of producing high-quality data to support more accurate and targeted village development planning.

The coaching materials were delivered by two village mentors, Arni Juwita Novisda, SST and Debi Tomika, SST. Topics covered included the basics of statistics, monitoring the progress of village statistical activities, an introduction to and use of the Desa Cantik website as a digital platform for data storage and information sharing, and the use of the SW Maps application for geotagging residential houses.

This coaching session is expected to raise awareness among village officials about the importance of accurate and up-to-date statistical data. “Optimizing the use of statistical data is essential to ensure that development programs truly address the needs of the community,” said one of the mentors during the material session.

The main goal of the Desa Cantik coaching is to provide comprehensive understanding to village officials about the importance of statistics, encourage data-driven development planning, and create village statistical agents who can manage and present data in a sustainable manner. Through this program, Pasir Emas Village is expected to become a model in data and information management, and to become an independent village in designing evidence-based development policies.
