The availability of timely and accurate agricultural data becomes the basis for realizing targeted agricultural policies. Since 2018, BPS has collaborated with the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT), supported by the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning / National Land Agency (Ministry of ATR / BPN), the Geospatial Information Agency (BIG), and the National Aeronautics and Space Agency (LAPAN). ), strives to improve the methodology for calculating rice harvested areas through the application of objective measurements by utilizing advances in information and communication technology as well as the availability of high-resolution satellite imagery. This collaboration is manifested in an activity entitled "Data Collection of Integrated Food Crops Agricultural Statistics with the Area Sampling Framework (KSA) Method" or better known as the KSA Survey. The implementation of the KSA survey for rice commodities began nationally in 2018. Segment observations were carried out on the last 7 (seven) days of each month. Based on the results of the KSA Survey, from 2018 to 2020 the rice harvested area in Kuantan Singingi Regency began in 2018, which was 6.8 thousand hectares and decreased to 5.4 thousand hectares in 2019 and increased again in 2020 compared to other years. previous. figure 8.09 thousand hectares. Meanwhile, rice production (Milled Dry Grain) in 2018 was 29.5 thousand tons and decreased in 2019 to 19.3 thousand tons then rose again in 2020 to 27.19 thousand tons. If converted to rice, rice production in 2020 will reach around 15.52 thousand tons, or an increase of 4.49 thousand tons (40.76 percent) compared to rice production in 2019 but does not exceed rice production in 2018 which amounted to 16.85 thousand. tons though. The number of harvested areas in 2020 is the largest number of harvested areas in the last three years. In addition to producing estimates of harvested area, the KSA Survey also provides an overview of other very important phases, such as the area of ​​the initial vegetative phase, late vegetative, generative, puso, and the area of ​​rice and paddy fields that are not planted with rice.
